Hi, I'm Danielle!
Danielle Tuomey has a BFA in dance with a double minor in business administration and communications from Mercyhurst University. Danielle’s early training in dance and theater is credited to Dance Unlimited in Frederick, MD where she was a member of the Dance Unlimited Repertory Company, and Skye Ballet Center (SBC) in Reston, VA. Throughout her career, she has trained with Donna Grim, Gayle Williams, Paul Mejia, Maria Terezia-Balogh, Stacey Tuomey, Beth Dangerfield Green, Jody Skye Schissler, C. Noelle Partusch, Jennifer McNamara, Matthew Christensen, Lesley Bories Scalise, Danielle Kaiser, Tauna Hunter, and Mark and Solveig Santillano. Danielle's professional experiences include the ensemble of and understudy for Bebe, Judy, and Kristine in A Chorus Line at Toby's Dinner Theatre in Columbia, MD, and various dance flashmobs for Carbone Entertaintment. Some of her highlighted pre-professional roles include Savage Birds choreographed by Sidra Bell and set by Mio Ishikawa, the pas de trois in Mercyhurst University’s Swan Lake, Marzipan Lead and Russian in Mercyhurst University's The Nutcracker, a Step Sister in SBC's Cinderella, Alice and Tweedle Dee in Other Voice’s Theatre’s (OVT’s) The New Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, and a featured dancer in OVT’s Jesus Christ Superstar. In addition, Danielle danced with and oversaw approximately 20 peers at basketball and football games as a captain of the Mercyhurst University Dance Team. Danielle has also attended the Exactitude Audition Session, Steps on Broadway Summer Study, Mercyhurst University Summer Dance Experience, Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell Summer Intensive, New York City Dance Alliance Outstanding Dancer Summer Experience, Rockettes Summer Intensive, Kennedy Center Ballet and Contemporary Master Class Series, and Mejia Ballet International Summer Intensives. While attending Mercyhurst, Danielle taught weekly ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz classes at Erie Dance Conservatory in Erie, PA. She currently teaches weekly ballet and pointe classes at Dance Unlimited and Skye Ballet Center. She also choreographs YAGP solos and group pieces for Skye Ballet Center.
